Good faith estimates are available upon request for both self-pay patients and patients with insurance by calling 425-615-6100. Actual claims are subject to your plan limitations and benefits at the time of service, which are subject to change. Anesthesia charges are calculated by actual time of your anesthesia which is finalized post procedure and may also be subject to change. Receiving an estimate is not a guarantee of payment. Patients are always advised to call their insurance plan member services line for a complete quote of benefits.
Your anesthesia providers are specialists like your surgeon or radiologist, and you will receive a bill for your anesthesia provider's professional service separate from your surgeon’s services. AAS will submit most bills directly to your insurance company for payment on your behalf. Your hospital or surgery center will ask you for insurance and demographic information. Your cooperation in giving complete information, including any applicable secondary insurance plan information, will help get your insurance claim filed quickly.
If we are provided with complete insurance information, we will file a claim to your insurance carrier. We usually allow the insurance company 30-45 days to process and pay our claim. You can expect to receive a patient billing statement after this timeframe directly from our anesthesia group if there is any patient responsibility owed. Please note that the insurance company may hold a claim due to missing information from the insured or from another healthcare provider. Please always respond to any requests for information from your insurance to ensure timely processing of your claim.
In many cases, there may still be a balance due from you for deductible or co-payment amounts after your insurance has paid our claim. If we have been supplied with information regarding your secondary insurance, we will bill them for any balance due. If you do not have secondary insurance, you will receive a statement for the amount due. If you do not have insurance, or cannot afford to pay the balance in full after insurance, AAS can work with you to minimize your costs in light of your financial situation.
